Two things shocked me into action last year:
- My sister asked me to be a bridesmaid at her Wedding in July 08
- I caught sight of a medical report from my GP to my life insurance company, which stated, “She avoids even trivial exercise”
I could reel off a list of excuses as to why I never used to exercise…”I am a full time working mum, who has little time to relax”, being the main one. I was always tired, stressed and never felt good about myself.
A half-hearted attempt was made to join a local gym where I had a one off session with a guy who showed me the equipment, told me to make sure I drank loads of water and then left me to it. Needless to say, I didn’t stick at this for very long – I wasn’t sure whether I was using the equipment properly, stopped when the pain started and cancelled my subscription as I wasn’t using the Gym as planned.
A friend of mine who has recently lost a significant amount of weight recommended Motiv8me. I booked an appointment.
The first meeting was a general “get to know you” session, where Kris was keen to understand my current lifestyle, my attitude towards exercise/fitness and helped devise a programme to meet the goals I have set myself.
After 3 weeks of personal training with Phil and changing my diet (following Kris’s nutritional advice), I found that I was starting to enjoy the way that I felt about myself. I was less tired, able to cope with the stresses and strains of every day life, and I really enjoyed the feeling that I got when I had exercised.
6 weeks in and people who don’t know me that well are asking me what my secret is! I’ve had compliments about my glowing complexion and my changing body shape….I feel great….and it’s down to Kris and Phil, who have motivated me to achieve great results in such a short amount of time.
I’m changing my goals to long term one’s now….It’s great that I feel better about my body for the wedding (and also great that I can stick two fingers up to the GP and tell him that I now “embrace” exercise!) – but I want this feeling to continue and with help from the guys at Motiv8me – I know it will!
